17. Civic Stability

A community matures, supporting law and order.

While our walking tour ends here, history continues south on Sherman Street. Just down the street you can visit the city archives and the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center.
Cemetery Street will take you to Mount Moriah Cemetery, where you can see the final resting places of many of Deadwood’s legendary residents. There is also a visitor center and gift shop at Mount Moriah.
Along the way, you’ll also find the Adams House, once home to some of Deadwood’s most influential families. We encourage you to visit other great Deadwood sites such as Broken Boot Gold Mine, the Days of ’76 Museum, the Adams Museum and the city library.
