10. Ride High, T.C., Ride High

A promising rodeo career cut tragically short.

Cowboy boots, bucking broncs and bulls — rodeo has been a part of South Dakota history since the state was first settled. And the state has produced quite a few rodeo stars, including Travis Calvin Holloway, better known as T.C. He was killed in a car accident in 2001, just as his rodeo career was taking off.
This bronze sculpture is a tribute to his memory.
